Organized by Christie’s, it remains the most famous charity event in the world. The auction is meant not only for professionals but also for private individuals, who will have the opportunity to taste different vintages of the Hospices de Beaune’s estate.

The festivities are meant to be for the tasting and the discovering of Burgundy wines. They always take place under Beaune market.

 

The wine sale is the occasion for professionals to discover this year’s vintage and market tendencies. They will have the possibility to get 220 L barrels which will be bottled and sold. Last year, buyers spent 4 652 272 €, for 607 barrels ( 469 red wines and 138 white wines).

 

Like every year, wine is celebrated during the Trois Glorieuses, a traditional and festive event:

- Saturday : chapitre of the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin at the château du Clos de Vougeot.

- Sunday :  the famous wine auction of Hospices de Beaune which attracts buyers of the entire world and still happens by candlelight.

- Monday : La Paulée de Meursault is a meal where a literary award is presented.

 

It’s also the occasion of third days of festivities at Beaune. At the same time, the Burgundy wine exhibition at the Palais des Congrès features numerous trade firms and estates with wine-tasting. Popular organizations from the semi-marathon to urban show such as tasting, uncorking bottle contest and the funfair, will happily entertain these three days.
